At the entrance to this holiday region you find the romantic little village of Tumpen. The mystic Engelswand rock face is towering high above the valley, right next to the hamlet of Farst known as Ötztal's "eyrie". Heading southwards you reach the wide and open basin of Umhausen, the main village of central Ötztal valley.

The picturesque resorts of Niederthai and Köfels are lovingly embedded in the stunning Alpine scenery at 1,500m above sea level.

Perfectly groomed nordic skiing trails of all difficulty levels spread across the valley. Snow is almost guaranteed on 16,5 km of cross-country skiing trails, skating & classical style. Nordic skiing fans will find here everything their heart could possibly desire: untouched landscapes, peace and silence, pure nature and endless sunshine.
